In an historic moment, in a packed room of over 75 activists Thursday evening (Sept. 11), San Francisco Green Party members using the consensus process voted overwhelmingly to endorse Board of Supervisors President Matt Gonzalez for SF Mayor. According to Green Party rules, a candidate (or measure) must win a vote threshold of 75% or greater of all Yes/No votes cast. By a narrow margin, Matt was able to exceed the required super-majority in the first round of voting. This was the second in a series of endorsement meetings convened to decide the Green Party's mayoral endorsement. The first meeting was held on August 20th, but no position was taken at that time.

More information will be forthcoming.

[Note: A planning meeting for the San Francisco Green Party's election campaign activities will be held this Sunday afternoon at 4PM at the SFGP office at 1028A Howard Street. All interested members are invited to join the ad-hoc committee and volunteer their time from now until November. If you have any questions about the process, please contact Matt Spencer or call (415) 701-7090.]

Please vote Matt Gonzalez for SF Mayor!!!
